Now the question is, are humanoid robots the future?

What is a humanoid robot?, en In technical terms, it can be described as a bipedal robot designed to have capabilities and characteristics equal to, or even superior to, humans.

The first recorded humanoid robot is WABOT-1 by Ichiro Kato in 1973. Considered the father of humanoid robotics, throughout the 1970s he presented robot prototypes, a symbiosis between robots and people. In that same decade he also dabbled in Citripio with the movie Star Wars episode 4.

Cinema has always fueled this desire for this kind of robot, in 1927 Metropolis came out, a film by Fritz Lang whose insignia is a robot that makes humans rebel. Later in the 80s, we have the case of Terminator and well, since the year 2000 these movies have come out in droves.

I.O. WHAT DO I KNOW #1 | Do the humanoid robots will be stranger than fiction?

Most portray an apocalyptic world where artificial intelligence surpasses and questions humanity. Seen this way, they may not be such a good idea, but the developments are increasing nowadays.

Humanoid robots hope to be useful in everyday activities, from performing dangerous or time-consuming jobs to assisting with household chores.

But in addition to being useful, they have another challenge, the uncanny valley. This hypothesis concludes that the more similar they are to us, we replicate a rejection response towards them. That is, how comfortable would we feel with these robots? The idea of living with robots still seems distant, but there will be a point at which they will coexist with us like any other person.

Digital Creators

Lil Miquela, an influencer who only exists on the internet, despite having photos with real people is only a creation. An animation character who has created a very real world, she has even dated real guys.

Also known as Miquela Sousa, she is part of the virtual influencers -but they really are-, that is, they are not flesh and blood but they do have numbers similar to or higher than those of a conventional influencer. Possibly her concept will explode even more, now with the metaverse, since humans will want to share her space in Miquela's world.

This teen influencer is on instagram, her lifestyle lies in Los Angeles California. She currently has more than 3 million followers, and of course, she uses her account to promote brands and speak out on socio-political issues.

Lil Miquela is a character created by Trevor McFedries, who is into music and co-founder of Brud, a tech startup. Which led him to realize this concept.

Will characters like Miquela manage to blur the boundaries between reality and the virtual world?

Launch of the week

The color-changing BMV was unveiled at CES. It is an electric car with the ability to change tonality in gray scales, with the push of a button.

It works through triangular panels throughout its body and uses the same electronic ink technology as electronic readers.

The panels contain millions of tiny capsules, each containing negatively charged white pigments and positively charged black pigments. Electric currents select the pigment and transmit it to the surface creating the different tones.

Once the color change is complete, the panels maintain their hue without requiring further electrical charging.
