Prezero opens in eitting one of the most advanced containers classification plants in Europe only 3% of electronic waste are properly managed in Latin America

Prezero, environmental services company belonging to the Schwarz group, has inaugurated the most novel light packaging classification plant in Europe, in the German Eitting town. After almost a year of construction, the plant located on the outskirts of Munich will process every year for recycling up to 120.000 tons of light containers collected in yellow containers.

The plant, which has meant an investment of about 40 million euros, provides 50 jobs and has been built within the framework of a strategic association in the Wurzer Group facilities, a company based in the area.In the future, the plant will work 24 hours, 365 days a year.

The selection process has the latest technology, such as special scanners that identify black plastics, which are difficult to classify in conventional plants. In addition, employees have the help of latest generation classifiers in quality control and reclassification tasks.

Thanks to artificial intelligence, the fully automatic classification plant will exceed all classification fees established in the German containers law approved in 2019.

The container material collected is classified into a total of 18 different groups that include the following plastics: polypropylene, terephthalate polyethylene (PET), polyethylene and polystyrene.Unlike other plants, different fractions can also be classified by colors. Thanks to the latest detection technology and innovative separation units, it can be dispensed with the manual classification almost completely.

The opening of the new plant is another important piece in the classification of recyclable materials in order to create new products.Christian Kampmann, director of the classification business unit, has stressed that "regarding our international structures, the Eitting plant allows us to close a geographical gap.In particular, from the logistics point of view, it is very accessible from our recycling plants in Austria and Italy. In the future, they can obtain the material that has been processed to use later in other manufacturing processes ".
