We are going to explain how to check online where you are registered, so that you can clear up any doubts without having to remember if you registered again the last time you moved. This is fairly easy information to obtain, and you will be able to find out the municipality or even the address of the house where you have registered.

One thing you should know is that in order to carry out this query, you will need to have a digital certificate, such as the digital certificate of the FNMT. This step will be necessary to identify yourself on the administration website, and thus be able to access your register data.

Obtain your registration data

The first thing you have to do is enter the Electronic Office of the National Institute of Statistics, whose website is https://sede.ine.gob.es/. Once you are inside, click on the option Query registration data in the register database that you will see in the column on the right.

This will take you to the registration data page in the register database. In it, click on the Register data query option that you will see in the right column, in a section called Here you can carry out the following actions, and it already notifies you that you need the electronic certificate.

You will go to a Register Data Query page, which explains that you have to identify yourself. In it, click on the Authenticate in Cl@ve button to start the process of identifying yourself.

You will enter a Cl@ve system page, where you have to click on the option to use the electronic certificate. If you have any of the other identification methods in this system, you can always use them as an alternative.

Once you click on the button to log in with your electronic certificate, a window will open in your browser asking you to choose the digital certificate you want to use. Here, you have to choose the one from the FNMT or another official that you have and belongs to the Cl@ve system.

Once the certificate is selected, you will access your employer data. Among the many data about you that you can see, there is the municipality and the address of the residence in which you are registered, so that you will have already left all doubts. You will also see the data about your place of birth, or the studies you have completed.
