A computer trained to do poetry. That is, more or less, the concept on which the show that can be seen today (20.00 hours) is based on the main stage of the Road Commercial Center. In the words of one of its protagonists, the Human Vigo Marcos de la Fuente, «is a multimedia show of generative poetry and live music, interacting with artificial intelligence, with a machine that generates an algorithm that tries to write poetry. Like when Karpov played chess with the machine, but led to creativity, ”explains the artist based in New York. Experiences are already being done in other places a long time ago, but in Vigo it will be the first time. «We are going to try that an excitement, to write poetry as a poet does, and the different thing is that we will see it represented graphically. I will be on stage phraseing poetry about music and behind me, on the big screen of Vialia you will see the machine writing, responding to what I recite ».

There are five different formats of graphic representations, as can be seen on the web: in network, in tree, mirror, random or overlapping. All this in favor of dynamism."It's very groundbreaking," he says.«It was born of the meetings that I had in New York with digital artists that mix their creations with new technologies, with augmented reality and virtual reality.Seeing them interacting, I thought the poets should also be in these new worlds that come, ”he warns.

The creative part is Marcos de la Fuente, but computer science is not within its competence. From this complex section, the quantum engineer Ismael Faro, who is a chips designer, and the Mariel Martínez code programmer.Ismael, computer programmer for IBM, and also Vigués, met him in New York.To the technical complexities that its work implies, not because they do not have it.«On the contrary, it is the most important thing in this case. But it is not necessary to understand it at all to enjoy it.You can simply let yourself be carried in a visual and auditory with what is created in that show, valid for all audiences, and it is also exciting because it is a pioneer and I would like the people from here to be proud that it is a vigués whoIt does, ”he argues.

This futuristic panorama announcing Marcos de la Fuente remembers planet Earth that imagined Phillip K. Dick in the novel that gave rise to the famous Blade Runner film, in which an almost perfect android hunting policeman, the Nexus 6 models manufactured by TyrellCorporation to be "more human than humans."

The poet scares a little when he says that «the machine writes like me.He has learned and every time what he does, he looks more like what I could do, but we'll see what happens in real time ».

The verses that make up the show will also sound new in Vigo, although its premiere took place last May in the poetry, music and visual project The Empathy Muscle, in the NFTS in the cloud gallery, in Brooklyn, where the Vigués also experiencedby creating a piece of cryptopoesy and plastic arts with blockchain technology.

The artistic part that fuses words, sounds and images as the algorithms dictate, does not neglect the scenic facet. To appear before the public, he will do it with clothing designed by Vigueses designers of the firm La Canalla. The music is from Alec Ekvall and also acts dancer Clara Ferrao.

Together with graphic designer Vanesa Álvarez, Marcos de la Fuente is also co -director of the Kerouac festival, who has just finished. But this show, titled the poet vs.The machine is not part of it.
