After the city excavated most of the paved sidewalk leaving a dirt path in front of his house, Ryder attempted to grow grass on the remains, but his plans were thwarted as locals continued to walk where there once had been a sidewalk.

Ryder wired a Wyze security camera with custom firmware to make the drive accessible with an electronic valve that controls the flow of water in a hose, using the YOLOv3 machine learning model, which is able to detect and recognize people and dogs.
When the system detects someone, the electronic valve opens automatically and the sprinkler does its job, scaring off trespassers from the lawn.
